More seewing daydreams

noxcatI've been kinda half-heartedly looking at fingerless gloves to add to a steampunk outfit. I did actually figure out how to measure for a glove size, and low and behold, I actually wear a size 7 glove! (assuming I measured correctly) But I've always had problems with floves fitting me - my wrists are tiny )a 7" bracelet will slide right off over my hands) my fingers too (size 5 in the summer, not even that in the winter), so it's weird to think I wear such a normal size glove.
I'm thinking leather - since I know that once wet, leather will shrink and so can be customized to my hand specifics. But the color is where I'm stuck.
I don't want to do the 'saloon girl' look. I'm not the desirable weight to be flouncing around in a garter belt and thigh high stockings. Plus, there's that whole 'skin cancer risk' I need to cautious of. (Covered skin > sunblocked exposed skin) I'm kinda wondering about non-black colors - like maybe even white leather. As a Woman of A Respectable Birth, I'm thinking I wouldn't be wearing black, plus, there's that whole 'black shows a lot of dirt' thing. So maybe grey?
I really need to quit daydreaming and start DOING things to make stuff like this possible. Or more accurately, PICK UP THE PACE. A snail's pace is never gonna get me there.
