Trying BPAL's Twilight perfume oil today, and so far, it's a NO. WAY too much lavender for me to like it. I can enjoy small amounts of lavender in some blends, but this is just Too Much for me. Kinda hoping the lavender fades out as it reacts with my chemistry - otherwise it goes straight to Trade.

Been kinda scattered and unfocused this week, and may have found out part of the problem on Wednesday - my thyroid dose is overcorrected. I'm going to start with taking 6.5 pills a week of the same dose pills, and if that's not enough, the pill dosage will be lowered and I'll take the new dose at 7 pills a week. But hypothyroidism is such a mild issue compared to so many others - anyone who sayd it's difficult and complicated has no clue how trylu bad other medical issues can be. They should consider themselves luck.

Thinking ahead to NoNewSewMo (even tho it's STILL Halloween!), and there is always the everpresent 'mending' pile. Wonder if I can make a dent in that? It woul be nice since part of the reason I haven't really done much sewing is because I keep telling myself the boring old mending needs to get done before I do something NEW and SHINY.

The blood work tests results show my thyroid is now too low, so it's back to the old, lower dose for me, starting Monday. I did notice it seemed a bit harder to fall asleep on the higher dose, so I'm not upset with the change.

I am disappointed in VPAL's Bastet. I was so hoping for something befitting a cat goddess - but instead it's almost too light to smell in the imp, and on skin it's pretty generically 'non department store oil perfume.' Yes, I actually bought an Imp, but inless it improves with age, I will not be wasting money on a bottle. I really wanted to love it...

And the bottle of Black and Red Candy canes doesn't smell as lovely as the decant I was so generously gifted. Gonna have to let that one sit for a few weeks and then try again. *sigh*

We went to a gem and jewelry show last weekend. We probably won't go again if they're here next year, even if admission was only 6 bucks. This one was lacking any fossils, and the one we like to go to has them, and I am fascinated by fossils. (Maybe that's why I'm with a man 10 years older than me. heh)

I'll be cat sitting for a friend next week, so last night I was at her place learning the particulars. (The cat needs his medication daily, so I'll be doing that as part of my visits) After that we went to dinner at Mighty Fine Burgers - and I have to tell ya - the name is spot on. They ARE quite tasty. :)

Afterwards, since we were in the same parking lot, we went to JoAnn's. She was looking for something specific, but I wasn't. I walked out 50 dollars lighter in the wallet. OOPS! I bought a beautifully Middle Eastern patterned (but 100 perdent dead dino) not quite 3 yard piece, and 3 yards od light grey cotton interlock with an all-over bat pattern. (Ir's telling me it NEEDS to be a dress. (!!)

I'm listening.

Tried BPAL's Gluttony and Baobhan Sith recently. Baobhan Sith had no smell. Zero. I guess it doesn't age well. That's disappointing. I looked up the components, and was looking forwatd to trying it. Gluttony, however, had a very bafed goods smell. Nice, but I;m not really a Foodie when it comes to perfume...

Ugh. Drought seems to be a good default for this place. We just always seem to be in need of rain. Unless there's a hurricane - then we get too much. Yeah, Harvey did make it rain this far inland, but no enough to cause flooding. Most of the damage was due to wind. But go less than an hour towards the coast, and there was a lot of flooding which only got worse as you get closer to the Louisiana border. People are STILL in hotels and in temporary housing.

Went rummaging through a couple small fabric bins today to rearrange them, and I am reminded just how amazing some of those gems are. GOTTA get my ass in gear about getting back to sewing!Aksi came across some plum stretchy (crushed?) panne velvet that might be good for making up a 'skater dress' like Eva's not sure how to make her journal name clickable yet), assuming she's still willing to sketch out the pattern pieces for me.??

Also managed to do some reorganizing and get 4 boxes down to three, so yay me. (It helps when one of the three boxes is bigger than the now empty box LOL(

BYAL's Lupercalia scents are out, and I simply have to find a way to sample some of them. (Cat Chasing Butterflies!) I'm just sooo potentially yuumy. I used to be on LJ's BPAL group, but that was then...
