So last night, as I was trying to prepare dinner, both the Microwave and the toaster oven decided to not work. And while the microwave is over 20 years old and more than deserves to rest in peace after years of faithful service, the toaster oven is relatively new.

Or maybe not. Now that I think about it I realize it's more than 7 or 8 years old. Does that still count as 'new' in today's disposable culture? Anyways - looks like we know what we're getting each other as a Giftmas gift!

And yes - last night's dinner was a cold one. :(

Sewing has happened. Or more correctly - mending has happened. The zipper closure on my lingerie bag had come unstitched so that zipping it closed only closed the zipper and not the bag. The gap was big enough the bag wasn't usable. It has been restitched and returned to service. Not my best work, but no one's going to see it.

I finally finished Caitlyn Doughty's book 'Smoke Gets In Your Eyes: Tales From The Crematoria' Interesting and entertaining book. And while I do agree with her that we as a culture are i Death Denial, I disagree with her on what she seems to think we should do instead. I found her to be a little heavy-handed side of the sale of what she believes we should do. But it's worth the read, and I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't think anything on the 'Death and Dying' subject is automatically morbid or depressing.
