Another August day in Texas
Aug. 14th, 2019 02:57 pmYesterday was the first time this summer that the Energy Reliability Council of Texas (we just call it Ercot) actually issued a level 1 warning about the drain on the power grid because of the heat. At level 2 they start restricting power to some companies that have agreed to it in advance, and at Level they start 'rolling blackouts' - unless you happen to be close enough to a hospital or other building of 'vital importance'.
I'm not far from a hospital - hope I'm close enough I don't have to experience a power outage. I've already moved my exercise time to earlier in the day so it's easier to do - for some reason (maybe the peripheral vascular problems) right before I start sweating, I feel physically unwell, so that doesn't lend itself to vigorous exercise.
I turned in my second writing assignment, but haven't heard anything yet from my writing coach. She moved from Springfield, MO to Ft Worth 3 years afo, and is not adjusting well to the TX summers - so I'm not pushing.
Not much else going on...this time of year it's all about just trying to survive the heat. Heh - maybe I don't need to wait til I die to go to Hell. Based on the heat, I'm already there.
